Concert evening with Ingrid Sala Santamaria

The 53rd founding anniversary of the Chamber of Pawnbrokers of the Philippines was celebrated recently with a dinner-concert, hosted by Hon. Consul of the Republic of Zambia, Luis Ablaza, Jr. and Mellie Ablaza, Hon Consul of Guatemala.

Ingrid Sala Santamaria, a renowned pianist, performed Rachmaninoff and Mendelssohn on the Ablaza’s beautiful Bosendorfer grand piano, with Jonathan Coo providing orchestra backing on a second grand piano. Ingrid Sala Santamaria is the founding chairman of the Piano Teachers Guild of Cebu, the Cebu Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Peace Philharmonic Orchestra.

The highlight of the evening was the induction of this year’s elected officers and directors with its president, Consul Luis Ablaza, Jr., who has maintained the position as president for eleven years. He was inducted by Amando Tetangco, Jr., Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
