4/4 Music at Wittmann, Vienna
On Tuesday, June 9th, the Summer concert completed the terrific 4-seasons-series 4/4 Music at Wittmann.
Since the first concert in autumn, Prof. Roland Batik of the Konservatorium Privatuniversität Wien is curating the piano concerts. His idea to arrange the “summer” concert particularly sunny and light-heartedly was very well received: the audience was carried away by the lively melodies.

Thundering applause for the artists
As a particular highlight, the concert saw two young and very talented artists playing on two beautiful Bösendorfer grand pianos.
The Japanese artist Yuko Sakurai opened the evening with a sonata by Haydn. Roland Batik himself was playing the second part, also Haydn. Then the young Austrian Bernhard Käferböck enthused the audience with jazz tones by Friedrich Gulda. At the finale of the diverting concert Bernhard Käferböck and Roland Batik were performing a duet of popular jazz melodies by Miles Davis as well as compositions by Roland Batik which was acknowledged by the audience with thundering applause.

Come again in autumn !
The concert series in cooperation with the Boesendorfer Klavierfabrik has the aim to create a public platform for a young generation of talented artists. The success with the highly interested audience concedes with both very traditional manufacturers. The concerts are taking place during the cycle of the four different seasons:
The concerts will be continued in autumn or winter 2009.
