Second concert in the series of Galileo concerts with Elena Misirkova - on Bösendorfer - all over Europe, March 4th in Brussels
A special cultural event will take place in Brussels at the Galileo Application Village in front of the conference center Charlemagne of the European Commission: the concert pianist Elena Misirkova, cultural ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia in Austria, is playing a Galileo concert during the Galileo Application Days featuring compositions of Werner Pirchner (Austria), Frederic Chopin (Poland) and Vlastimir Nikolovski (Macedonia) on a Bösendorfer concert grand piano, model 280. This is the second concert in the Galileo series which is supporting the presentation of the biggest IT project of both EU and ESA (European Satellite Navigation System). Elena Misirkova, the concert pianist and cultural ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia in Austria
She was born in Skopje, Republik of Macedonia. A fellowship of the Republic enabled her to study piano at Gnessin Music Academy in Moskow with Prof. Alexandr Satz, which the artist passed with distinction. Elena lives in Vienna since 1989, where she also specialised with Prof. Leonid Brumberg. She was invited to play concerts in Russia, Italy, Sweden, Hungary, Slovenia, the Ukraine, the USA, Macedonia and Austria. Her public presende is also visible in presentations on TV and radio as well as CD pdoructions. Through a parliament resolution of the Macedonian government, the artist was named cultural ambassador at the Republic of Austria by the Prime Minister in 2007. In October 2009 the first Galileo Concert took place with a tremendous success at the "Akademie der Wissenschaften" in Vienna.

The Galileo Application Days
They take place from march 3rd - 5th at the Charlemagne Conference Center in Brussels and are supported by the European Commission as well as the European Areospace Agency (ESA). The Anwendungszentrum GmbH Oberpfaffenhofen organises the event together with the European Controlling Agency for Satellite Nagivation (GSA). In front of the conference center, ther will be live demonstration fo some applications which either have been developed within the 7th research programme or were price winning at the European Satellite Navigation Competition or have emerged from the technology transfer program of ESA.
