"Dedication to Maestro"

Already in spring the Heraldic Hall of the Winter Palace (Hermitage) in St. Petersburg was place of the 4th International Festival "Dedication to Maestro".

During the festival week Vladimir Mischuk, honored artist of the Russian Federation and laureate of many prestigious music concerts worldwide, held an acclaimed recital on a Bösendorfer 280. The concert was dedicated to the 200th anniversary of  genius Polish composer Frederic Chopin. The audience enjoyed the best maestro compositions: Polonaise C-sharp minor, Improptus Nr.1 and Nr.2, Ballade Nr.4, two nocturnes com. 48 Nr.1 and Nr.2, Polonaise A-flat major.

Later that week, with a gala-concert given by the Boys' Choir of Kaunas city (Lithuania), famous soloist Nikolay Petrov (again on Bösendorfer) and the State Hermitage Orchestra conducted by Saulus Sondetskis, the festival was closed solemnly.

Festival concept

The International Festival-Series "Dedication to Maestro" is a tribute to the memory of the greatest composers and musicians, and it organises concerts at the anniversaries of famous composers and performers of classic music.

In 2010, the festival commemorated 170-years since the date of birth of Pyotr Ilyich Chaikovsky, 325-years since the date of birth of Georg Friedrich Händel and 200-years since the date of birth of Frédédric Chopin.

"Royal" company of St. Petersburg provided the festival organizers with concert grand piano Bösendorfer 280.
