"Premium Piano Launch Concert" at Singapore Esplanade
Bösendorfer Ambassador Josephine Koh, violinist Cindy Yan, and cellist Natasha Liu inspire the audience at Singapore Esplanade with an outstanding performance.
Yamaha Music (Asia) Pte Ltd had an exclusive "Premium Piano Launch Concert" on 16 January 2011 at Singapore Esplanade. During the event Bösendorfer Ambassador Josephine Koh (piano) performed together with Cindy Yan (violinist) and Natasha Liu (cellist) the first movement of Schuberts Piano Trio No 1 in B Flat, Op.99
The Trio No 1 Schubert has written in 1827 and finished in 1828, the year of his death but also the year when he played his first and only public concert for the "Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde" in Vienna. It is the same year Ignaz Bösendorfer founded his piano company. The first movement is a happy allegro with an bubbly opening centered on the strings but soon turning over to the piano, which emulates the violin/cello octaves while the strings take over the vibrant accompaniment. A heartwarming second melody in the cello assumes an almost heroic posture when it recurs in the development.
Exchange with artists
Following the concert there was a reception during which the guests, including the Ambassador of Poland, H.E. Waldemar Dubaniowski and his wife, had an active exchange with the artists, Mr Fumihiro Horie (Managing Director of Yamaha Music (Asia)), Mr Ernest Chiu of Chiu Piano Company and Simon Oss (Representative of Bösendorfer) about music, Viennese culture and the unique sound of Bösendorfer pianos.
The next concert with Joesphine Koh will take place February 24th, again at Singapore Esplanade. She will perform together with the Polish pianist Arkadiusz Bialak on two Bösendorfer pianos pieces by Bach, Liszt, Schostakovich etc
And due to the great success of the "Premium Piano Launch Concert" also the
Schubert Piano Trio will be performed once again.
