Born in 1987 in Sendai, Yuki Sunamura began playing the piano at the age of 4. She was admitted to the preparatory course of the University of Music and Associated Arts in Vienna in 2001 at the age of 14, and since 2006, became a full time student. After being awarded a Diploma (Undergraduate BMus Degree equivalent) in 2010, she has been continuing her study at the Masters level at the same university with Wolfgang Watzinger. She has also studied with Mayumi Saito, Mikako Abe, Reiko Kakuno, Elisabethe Dvorak Weisshaar, and  Marialena Frenandes (Chamber Music). Yuki also attended masterclasses held by Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Erik Tawaststjerna, Peter Lang, Einar Steen-Nokleberg, Klaus Hellwig, Pascal Devoyon, Wolfgang Manz, Julia Goldstein-Manz, and others. The awards received include, Third Prize at the Second International Young Pianist Competition in Ostra (Ancona, Italy, 2002); First Prize and "Boesendorfer Award" at the Prima La Musica Youths Competition in Austria (Austria, 2004);  Diploma at the Young Chopin International Piano Competition (Estonia, 2006); "Certificate of Merit" at the Vietri sul Mare-Amalfi Coast International Piano Competition (Italy, 2010); Prizewinner at the Klavierpodium Competition, additional prizes awarded include "Piano News-Award", "Soiree Piano", "Chance Festival Muenchen" awards (Germany, 2010)
