Beatrice Berrut

“My life is here to serve music.”

The Swiss pianist Beatrice Berrut grew up in a musical household, surrounded by the inspiring power of the Pennine Alps. “The mountains naturally influence my piano playing; they bring me a certain spirituality. I’m in awe of the mountains, and of music as well.” Through her encounter with Brahms’s Piano Concertos, a new dimension has opened up to Beatrice Berrut: “Brahms awakened in me the deep desire to become a pianist. That completely changed my life.”

She studied at the Conservatoire Lausanne, at the Heinrich Neuhaus Stiftung in Zurich, as well as at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler (Hans Eisler Academy of Music) in Berlin and at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. She concertizes in Europe and the USA and has performed in venues including the Berliner Philharmonie, London’s Wigmore Hall and the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. Beatrice Berrut performs regularly with top partners such as Shlomo Mintz, Itzhak Perlman, Frans Helmerson and Mihaela Martin.
