Saskia Giorgini

“Music is a feeling. Music allows everyone to feel what they need to feel in the moment.”

Saskia Giorgini is one of the most remarkable artists amongst the young generation of Italian pianists. She is the winner of the 2016 International Mozart Competition in Salzburg and in 2015 was a finalist in the International Busoni Piano Competition.

She received her first piano lessons at the age of four. “I loved music. And I loved to sing. At some point I began playing piano, which is quite far removed from singing. Since then, I’ve tried for my entire life to make the piano sing.” At the age of 15, she continued her training at the Incontri col Maestro piano academy in Imola and later studied in Turin, Pinerolo and in Salzburg.

Recording "Bösendorfer Artist Series"

Saskia Giorgini concertizes worldwide, including at the Vienna Musikverein, in chamber music festivals and in the Seoul Arts Center. Her affinity to chamber music regularly unites her with musicians such as Ian Bostridge, Martin Fröst, Janine Jansen, Gilles Apap, Mario Brunello, Thomas Demenga, Friedemann Eichhorn and Dora Schwarzberg.

“The piano stimulates my imagination. The piano is an almost magical instrument; you perform miracles with the sound.” Saskia Giorgini has been a Bösendorfer Artist since 2016. “Music is a type of meditation; I feel at one with the instrument.”
